New Hire Experience

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to aten-year maximum

Job Summary

To provide administrative and clerical support to assigned personnel; to communicate information regarding school and/or district policies, procedures and functions; and to ensure compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements of assigned functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform secretarial functions (i.e. typing, filing, recordkeeping, composing correspondence, scheduling appointments, etc) to assist assigned personnel
  • Respond to inquiries from students, parents, district personnel and general public to convey information, school and/or district policies and procedures, etc
  • Evaluate inquires and/or situations to take appropriate action or direct to appropriate personnel for resolution
  • Prepare written materials (i.e. correspondence, letters, notices, etc) to document activities, provide written reference and/or convey information
  • Process various documents and materials (i.e. purchase orders, schedule changes, etc) to disseminate information to the appropriate parties
  • Establish and maintain files to secure appropriate data for administrative reference
  • Compile data from a variety of sources and prepare reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial, legal and/or administrative requirements
  • Coordinate a variety of programs and activities (i.e. meetings, school functions, special events, etc) to assist assigned personnel in the delivery of services according to established guidelines
  • Monitor assigned activities and/or program components to coordinate activities to ensure compliance with established guidelines
  • Attend meetings to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions of the position
  • Regular and on-time attendance required
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
  • Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications
  • High School education or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Synergy system
  • Bookkeeping and recordkeeping experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, take initiative, direct own workload and meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
  • Knowledge of school district policies and procedures beneficial
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Typically based in the school's main office or administrative area
  • Frequent contact with students, parents, teachers, and administrators—requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adheres to school schedules but must be flexible to handle emergencies or last-minute changes
