Mesa Chamber of Commerce Internship Opportunity - Committee Affairs
The Mesa Chamber of Commerce offers a unique opportunity as an association for potential interns to learn a range of skills in a professional setting and network with member organizations that fit their intended field of study.
As a successful intern, you will engage in a wide-ranging collection of activities, including but not limited to:
- Member Engagement – Communicate with members via digital, phone, or in-person actions.
- Event Support – Work closely with Chamber Staff on the Chamber’s wide range of committee, networking, and other events to ensure members are provided with world class experience. Activities include greeting and checking in attendees at the event, reminding attendees of the event in advance, and providing support for staff during the event.
- Administrative Support – As an association with over 1,000 members, the work to keep member records current is ongoing.
Successful interns will work as team members and be solutions oriented. They will communicate openly and ask questions to understand processes and their impact on a successful project.
Intern for Committee Affairs
The Chamber offers opportunities for interns to support work in industry clusters such as Industry & Defense, Healthcare, Education, Technology, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in coordinating communication between committees and internal staff or leadership.
- Support scheduling, planning, and logistics for committee meetings and events.
- Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes and notes, and track action items to ensure timely follow-up.
- Maintain records of committee activities, documents, and membership lists.
- Help draft and distribute communications, reports, and updates to committee members.
- Monitor progress on committee projects and provide status updates to the rest of the committee.
- Provide administrative and organizational support to ensure smooth committee operations.
- Actively pursuing or recently completed a degree in related fields.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe
- Ability to multitask and meet project deadlines
- Able to attend meetings at required times
The Chamber works to provide a flexible intern opportunity to candidates, asking for a minimum of 20 hours a week, working with the intern to create a schedule that meets their school and life needs.
