Employment Type:
Part-time (29 hours per week)
Base Hourly: $17.12
Class/Calendar: A12, 9.25 months

Experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

Education:
1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position
Job Summary:
To provide clerical support for office personnel; and to contribute to the efficient operation of an office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, screen and transfer phone calls
- Greet, screen and direct visitors
- Respond to inquiries from students, parents, staff and/or general public to provide information and/or direction
- Create daily staff and student bulletins and monthly staff and student calendars
- Process materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalent

- Moderate proficiency in typing, with good accuracy; above average test battery
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person
- Ability to operate general office machines and equipment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students, parents, district employees and public; to be tactful and diplomatic
- Ability to take initiative and to work with constant interruptions
Work Environment &
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent at the front desk in the main office of a school
- Frequent communication with students, parents, staff, and visitors
- Fast-Paced:
Especially during peak times like morning drop-off, lunchtime, and dismissal - Must handle multiple tasks at once (e.g., phones ringing, people arriving, announcements)
- Regular use of office software for emails, attendance records, and scheduling
- Lifting/Carrying:
Occasionally may need to lift office supplies or packages (typically under 20 lbs.)
