Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Base Hourly: $19.89
Class/Calendar: B21, 12 months

Performance Pay: Available annually

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified-like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

Job Summary: To provide administrative and clerical support to school assistant principal and/or assigned personnel; to communicate information regarding school and/or district functions; and to ensure compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements of assigned functions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform secretarial functions (i.e., typing, filing, recordkeeping, scheduling and coordinating activities, etc.) to provide clerical support for assistant principal and/or assigned personnel.
- Respond to inquiries (students, parents, teachers, district personnel, general public, etc.) to communicate procedures, information and/or direction and/or to evaluate situations to take appropriate action according to established guidelines.
- Direct students with attendance and/or discipline referrals to the appropriate assistant principal/team leader.
- Type and revise master schedule; input student and teacher scheduling data.
- Compose documents and/or written materials (i.e., correspondence, newsletters, memos, minutes, school mailings, etc.) to communicate and convey information to students, parents, teachers, etc.
- Process and/or prepare documents and materials (i.e., suspension and expulsion letters, facility permits, incoming/outgoing mail, etc.) to disseminate information in compliance with district, state and/or federal regulations.
- Schedule and process paperwork for CIT and 504 meetings.
- Assist with registration schedules, open house and commencement.
- Regular and on-time attendance required.
- Serve as receptionist and distribute district and U.S. mail during the summer months.
- Assist with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools.
- High School education or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience with Synergy system.
- Bookkeeping and recordkeeping experience.

- Above average proficiency in typing, with good accuracy; excellent test battery; high English grammar and math aptitude.
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc).
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, site personnel, district personnel and general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, take initiative, direct own workload and meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of school district policies and procedures beneficial.
Physical Requirements
- Typically works in the main office or administrative area of a school.
