Supply Chain / Intl. Trade, Operations Manager
Responsibilities
- You will report to the Planning Manager
- You will lead and develop a team of buyers, providing direction, coaching, and performance management
- You will maintain a strong pulse on supplier performance, market conditions, and material risks
- You will own purchasing execution, supplier management strategy, and procurement processes across the value stream
- You will drive cross-functional alignment with Planning, Manufacturing, Supply Planning, and Engineering to ensure material availability and continuity
- You will oversee procurement activities including purchase order execution, expediting, and supplier communication
- You will lead tiered procurement and supplier review meetings across multiple levels of the organization, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution
- You will establish, monitor, and improve purchasing processes, systems, and standard work
- You leverage demand signals, MRP, and planning inputs to execute effective and timely purchasing decisions
- You ensure purchase orders are placed, confirmed, and managed to meet production and inventory requirements
- You balance supplier capacity, lead times, and cost considerations to maintain continuity of supply
- You collaborate with site leadership and planning teams to align procurement priorities with business needs
- You are accountable for supplier delivery performance, material availability, and shortage mitigation
- You drive inventory health through alignment with planning on safety stock, lot sizing, and replenishment strategies
- You proactively manage supplier risk, including escalation, recovery plans, and alternate sourcing strategies
- You establish and track key procurement metrics (on-time delivery, supplier quality, lead time adherence, cost performance) and communicate results clearly
- You deliver insights through reporting and analytics to support strategic sourcing and operational decisions
- You communicate supplier constraints, risks, and recovery plans clearly and concisely through presentations, dashboards, and written communication

Experience and Education RequirementsTypically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years of industry experience, informal management/team lead experience.
