Mitigation Estimator & Coordinator

Overview

The Estimator role is critical for the success of a restoration company. Estimators create estimates in Xactimate following program guidelines and IICRC standards. They must be detail oriented and understand the commercial and insurance restoration industry. A basic construction background, including an understanding of building materials, flooring, and other materials affected by water and other property damage, will assist in being successful in this position.

Xactimate experience is an essential requirement of this job. If you do not have experience with this software, you will not be considered for this position. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the software as part of the candidate screening process.

• Must have previous mitigation estimating experience with a restoration company.
• Inspect and scope jobs with the Crew Chief/Lead Tech on the scope of the job.
• Document loss with clear and descriptive job photos and upload into the operating system/software.
• Write mitigation estimates using Xactimate and other estimating software.
• Communicate conversations and key information on the job using the notes feature in required software.
• Estimate using carrier audit standards and manage the estimate based on feedback from client and customer.
• Communicate with lead tech to ensure all required documentation is complete (photos, notes and documents signed).
• Record of Drying using mobile software.
• Determine labor and equipment costs.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
• Communicate with insurance companies and adjusters via phone and email in a timely manner and act as a liaison.
• Manage all estimate documents and assess project risks.
• Review quotes and estimates with the construction project team.
• Address estimate exceptions in a timely manner.

• Experience in mitigation estimating within a restoration company.
• Proficiency with Xactimate (essential); proven ability to demonstrate software knowledge during screening.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to understand building materials, flooring, and related components affected by water/property damage.
• Basic construction knowledge and an understanding of commercial and insurance restoration processes.
