Construction Estimator

Ironmark Building Co. is looking for a commercial construction Estimator to join our team in the Phoenix area!

We are an award-winning commercial general contractor based in Minneapolis. We specialize in multi‑family, mixed‑use and hospitality projects and handle complex projects with a focus on safety, integrity, and collaboration.

• Calculate accurate labor, equipment, and material costs for wood‑frame and other commercial construction projects and remodels.
• Review drawings and specifications to determine quantities and calculate pricing.
• Coordinate subcontractor bids, including preparing bid invitations, reviewing incoming bids for scope and pricing, scheduling site visits with subcontractors, acquiring best pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, and developing bid presentations.
• Communicate with low bidders for final overview and assure completeness of bid.
• Develop and maintain positive communication with subcontractors and suppliers, researching and qualifying new subcontractors and suppliers, and maintaining lists of preferred subcontractors and suppliers to present to clients.
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings as needed.
• Prepare project documents, material release schedules, client information, project schedules and other documentation to assure a steady stream of information to the Project Managers.
• Present to owner and architects as needed.

• 2+ years of related estimating experience on commercial construction projects, both public and private bidding.
• Experience with hard bids.
• Passion for commercial construction.
• Knowledgeable in wood‑frame construction.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans and specifications relative to the scope of work and schedule specified for each project within bid time frame.
• Ability to read plans and perform material takeoffs and estimates.
• Must meet bid deadlines.
• Proficient in Excel and on‑screen take‑off or comparable software.
• Ability to communicate with other professional contractors.
• A degree and/or certification in Estimating, Construction Management, and/or Architecture is strongly preferred.
