SummaryThis individual is responsible for overseeing all field operations on various construction projects. This role ensures projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and company standards. The Superintendent leads on-site teams, manages subcontractors, and coordinates daily activities to keep projects on schedule and maintain quality.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from project start through completion
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly work plans aligned with project schedules
- Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
- Monitor project progress and proactively address delays or issues
- Enforce safety regulations, conduct site safety meetings, and maintain a safe work environment
- Perform regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance
- Coordinate deliveries, materials, and equipment to maintain workflow efficiency
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to align field operations with budget and schedule goals
- Maintain accurate daily logs, site reports, and documentation
- Facilitate inspections with authorities having jurisdiction and manage punch lists
- Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, and internal teams on project status
- High school diploma required; degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in commercial and/or residential construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend)
