Superintendent
The Superintendent oversees field operations for commercial roofing, sheet metal, siding, and aluminum composite material projects, ensuring high-quality installation, safety, and efficient use of resources. This role closely partners with project managers, project engineers, general contractors, and field crews to deliver projects on time and within budget across multiple job sites.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate successful jobsite project installation in close partnership with project managers, project engineers, general contractors, and installers.
- Mentor and train field crews to improve efficiency, production, and quality of work.
- Participate in project turnover meetings and all construction meetings required by the general contractor.
- Forecast material and personnel needs to ensure projects run smoothly and remain within financial and schedule constraints.
- Verify weekly payroll for accuracy, including correct cost allocation by personnel, project, and scope of work, before submitting to the project manager.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth.
- Attend project scheduling meetings to ensure upcoming projects are accurately represented in durations and resource allocation.
- Communicate project schedules clearly to general contractors and field installers and coordinate with the project manager to reallocate additional resources when necessary.
- Advocate and enforce safety standards by mentoring and retraining staff and applying disciplinary measures when required.
- Stay current on safety regulations and ensure compliance across all job sites.
- Investigate and report accidents and near misses, and support continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Manage and coordinate field personnel and subcontractors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Oversee installation of sheet metal roofing, siding, and metal panel systems in commercial and industrial environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on data center, industrial construction, and airport-related projects to maintain project quality and timelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience as a Superintendent in construction or a closely related field.
- Proven experience managing field personnel and subcontractors, including working directly with site foremen.
- Hands-on experience with roofing, sheet metal, metal panels, and aluminum composite material (ACM) systems.
- Strong experience in commercial construction, including familiarity with data center and industrial construction projects.
- High emphasis on safety with solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to train field crews and help them work more efficiently and productively.
- Ability to forecast labor and material needs and manage projects within budget and schedule constraints.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for communication, documentation, and reporting.
- Ability to travel occasionally to support multiple job sites as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with metal panels, sheet metal roofing, and siding in commercial construction settings.
- Field management experience, including oversight of installers and coordination with general contractors.
- Subcontractor management experience on complex commercial or industrial projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for reviewing drawings and construction details.
- Experience using Bluebeam for plan review, markups, and document management.
- Comfort working on projects in environments such as airports, semiconductor facilities, data centers, and industrial sites.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to guide crews and collaborate with project stakeholders.

Work Environment
This is a salaried, field-focused role that involves roaming between different job sites such as airports, semiconductor manufacturing facilities, data centers, and other commercial or industrial locations. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, totaling approximately a 40-hour work week, with start times determined by project needs. The Superintendent works primarily on active construction sites and collaborates closely with site foremen, installers, general contractors, and project management teams.
The role uses a variety of technologies and equipment, including a company truck, Surface Pro, iPad, mobile phone or phone allowance, and a company credit card for approved business expenses. Work is performed in outdoor and indoor construction environments where adherence to safety standards and appropriate work attire and protective equipment is required.
