Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Construction Safety Coordinator to support a project in the North Phoenix area. Your expertise will help drive project success, maintain safety standards, and uphold quality workmanship. As a Safety Coordinator you will work closely with the SDB project site safety manager to monitor work areas for safe working condition and resolve any safety related issues.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of impactful infrastructure developments, utilizing your technical skills and passion for construction.
- Ensure safety procedures are being followed daily.
- Attend SDB morning safety huddles.
- Review and sign field PTP’s.
- Conduct safety observation inspections on a regular basis to identify and correct unsafe work practices or conditions.
- Educate employees on safety standards and expectations.
- Assist with employee safety programs such as conducting new hire, ongoing re‑training, and compliance training.
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents for Root Cause Analysis.
- Collect documentation of SDB’s safety procedures, accidents, and related events.
- Continually improve occupational health and safety in the workplace.
- Attend site meetings as required or directed by SDB project safety manager.
- Other safety‑related duties as assigned.
- 5+ years’ of safety experience.
- Excellent knowledge of federal, state, and local safety requirements.
- OSHA 30‑hour card.
- OSHA 510 in construction.
- First Aid, CPR AED.
- BCSP certification (CHST or higher) or safety related degree required.
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to walk, sit and climb multiple flights of stairs, ladders or scaffolding.
- Ability to multi‑task and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback.
- Bi‑Lingual desirable.
- Acceptable driving record required.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds at times.
