Position: Junior  Electrical Estimator

Junior Electrical Estimator

We are seeking a Junior Electrical Estimator to join a growing construction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates and supporting the bidding process for electrical and infrastructure-related projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in construction estimating.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate cost estimates
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Analyze project requirements and identify cost factors impacting overall estimates
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Develop competitive bid strategies and evaluate alternative construction methods
  • Validate estimates using historical cost data and internal benchmarks
  • Identify and communicate project risks, assumptions, and opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams during pre-construction and project handoff
  • Maintain organized documentation and cost databases for future reference
  • Participate in bid reviews and support continuous improvement of estimating processes
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent technical experience
  • 2-5 years of estimating, construction, or engineering experience
  • Experience in electrical and/or underground construction is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and take-off processes
Technical Skills
  • Experience with estimating software (Accubid, Bid2

    Win, or similar tools preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits as required
  • May require limited travel (up to 10%)
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when needed to meet project deadlines
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work on a computer for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 20-50 lbs
  • Ability to review documents and drawings in both digital and physical formats
