Junior Electrical Estimator
We are seeking a Junior Electrical Estimator to join a growing construction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates and supporting the bidding process for electrical and infrastructure-related projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in construction estimating.
Key Responsibilities- Review project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate cost estimates
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment
- Analyze project requirements and identify cost factors impacting overall estimates
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Develop competitive bid strategies and evaluate alternative construction methods
- Validate estimates using historical cost data and internal benchmarks
- Identify and communicate project risks, assumptions, and opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams during pre-construction and project handoff
- Maintain organized documentation and cost databases for future reference
- Participate in bid reviews and support continuous improvement of estimating processes
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent technical experience
- 2-5 years of estimating, construction, or engineering experience
- Experience in electrical and/or underground construction is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and take-off processes
- Experience with estimating software (Accubid, Bid2
Win, or similar tools preferred) - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Primarily office-based with occasional site visits as required
- May require limited travel (up to 10%)
- Flexibility to work extended hours when needed to meet project deadlines
- Ability to sit, stand, and work on a computer for extended periods
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 20-50 lbs
- Ability to review documents and drawings in both digital and physical formats
