- Lead and manage design, preconstruction, and construction activities for assigned projects
- Manage multiple campus projects, budgets, schedules, and status reports
- Maintain daily tenant interface and developer-client partnerships
- Solve high-level, fast-paced problems and prioritize competing demands
- Create and communicate weekly development program and project status updates for executive reviews
- Create master development programs, campus design solutions, and capital budgets
- Manage entitlement and permitting needs
- Implement and manage multi-phased site development plans
- Write scopes of work and participate in procurement and project cost estimates
- Evaluate and level design, construction, and commissioning pricing proposals
- Coordinate equipment procurement and delivery with strategic procurement
- Coordinate submittals with site stakeholders
- Monitor project budgets and cost-to-date
- Establish schedules and manage teams to on-time completion
- Review contractor pay applications and change order requests; negotiate pricing
- Establish site construction security procedures
- Develop and communicate product deployment plans
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers and Product teams on custom client solutions
- Serve as liaison with key QTS stakeholders and represent QTS in OAC meetings
- Support due diligence for potential new sites
- Improve internal project management processes and protocols
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Seven or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures
- Experience managing Lump Sum, Construction Management at Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods from conceptual development through procurement to closeout
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint for executive-level program updates and Excel for site program and project budgets
- Ability to travel 25%-50% of the time, dependent on business needs
- Experience with delivery of mission-critical data center facilities preferred
- Seven years of data center construction experience and/or seven years of client-developer-facing tenant fit-out experience preferred
- Extensive experience managing MEP trades preferred
Demonstrates expertise in managing commercial construction projects, including design, preconstruction, and construction activities, while effectively communicating with stakeholders and managing budgets and schedules. Proficient in coordinating multi-phased site development plans and ensuring compliance with entitlement and permitting needs.
