Worship Pastor

Position Summary

Out of their deep and authentic relationship with Jesus, Generation Church’s Worship Pastor will be responsible for the planning and execution of worship at their assigned campus. The Worship Pastor will lead a team of volunteers and contractors in this effort. This person will also provide a secondary skillset to the Generation Church team. This can range from helping with campus facility needs, other creative work (i.e., video work, social media management, etc.)

or something else. Candidates can include other skill sets in the application process.

• Has the ability to lead, organize, supervise, and develop people.
• Has the ability to effectively lead and engage a congregation in passionate worship.
• Has the physical ability to lead worship with a high level of energy.
• Has the ability to speak well in front of large groups of people.
• Can give and receive critical feedback with poise and maturity.
• Enjoys fast-paced ministry work environments that are constantly changing and growing (Adaptable).
• Has a high level of capacity (Resilient: doesn’t get overwhelmed easily).
• Can thrive working autonomously with minimal direction but values input and specific supervisor guidance when offered.
• Always looks for ways to make it better. Never satisfied with the status quo. Willing to “reject good for great.”
• Their whole family enjoys and participates in the life of the church (Doesn’t view work and personal life as mutually exclusive).
• Is a learner and inquisitive. Willing to glean wisdom and best practices from anyone (Not a “know-it-all”).
• Possesses unimpeachable character. Lives a godly life above reproach and exemplifies a Spirit-filled relationship with the Lord.
• Lives as an example that others would want to emulate. Demonstrates health and stability personally, spiritually, physically, financially, and relationally.
• An indisputable “hard worker.” The type of person who achieves results and stays until those desired results are achieved.
• Lives out and protects the culture and values of Generation Church.

• Lead worship for weekend services, special events, and necessary auxiliary services.
• Work with the Creative Team to plan and execute worship services.
• Facilitate a culture of growth for volunteer teams.
• Create and foster relationships with members of the volunteer team.
• Develop, manage, and adhere to an annual budget.
• Create setlists.
• Be the primary driver of finding new songs for the song library.

• Deep and authentic relationships with Jesus Christ.
• Alignment with Generation Church’s Core Beliefs with an understanding of primary and secondary issues.
• Theological competency as it applies to this role and level of spiritual leadership.
• 2+ years of leading a Worship Department minimum.
• History of working with a Music Director (preferred).
• Professional level of vocal and musical instrument performance.
• Ability to communicate musical ideas effectively.
• Ability to communicate music in “The Nashville Numbers System.”
• Working ability to use Planning Center Online, Master Tracks, Ableton, MacOS, iOS, Google Docs, and Slack.
• History of successfully managing a budget.
• Manage CCLI and other relevant licensing necessary for the function of a church service.
