The Social Media Manager is responsible for producing, managing, and analyzing Generation Church’s social media presence. This role oversees content creation and distribution across Instagram, You Tube, Facebook, podcasts, and other relevant platforms, including planning, recording, editing, publishing, and ongoing management. The Social Media Manager will monitor trends and performance analytics, optimize cross-platform distribution, and refine content strategy to increase engagement, attract new followers and subscribers, and drive traffic across Generation Church’s digital platforms.
This position works closely with the Creative Arts Pastor and Communications Director.
Reports to: Communications Director
The Ideal Candidate- Can take executive-level conversations and translate them into written materials and/or visual products. Has a creative eye.

- Lives out and protects the culture and values of Generation Church.
Responsibilities:
- Cull and choose effective material from original content (sermons, podcast, etc.)
- Assists in accomplishing the mission of the church.
- Plan, record, edit, post, and manage social media posts.
- Research podcast topics and present research in a usable format for podcast recordings.
- Analyze and adjust strategies based on analytics and positive trends.
- Execute additional social media responsibilities as requested.
- Manage and prioritize incoming direct messages and comments and respond in the voice of The Lead Pastor and/or the church.
Preferred Qualifications and
Experience:
- Ability to understand current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space.
- Have a high level of aptitude to select effective material from original content (sermons, podcast, etc.)
- Ability to determine the ideal social media post after examining original content. I.e. Sermon, podcast, etc.
- Direct experience using social media management tools.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro, Canva) or equivalent digital media editing tools.
- Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills.
- Proven track record of problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment; ability to operate under deadlines and competing priorities.
- Ability to anticipate change and react efficiently and expeditiously.
- Communicate effectively with the marketing team.
- Strong teamwork skills, patience, and a willingness to offer suggestions and improvements to newly developed processes.
- An obvious, active, and growing relationship with Jesus.
- Enthusiasm for the mission, vision, and values of Generation Church.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates wisdom in decisions, actions & recommendations.
- Evaluates decisions/actions by their overall impact and long-term implications.
