Banner Health is committed to improving health care by offering the best experiences for patients and staff. The Communication team works various shifts around the clock, and this position is part of that effort.

Responsibilities

In this role you will coordinate and process all codes, emergencies and responses for several facilities. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Respond to, process and document all code arrests, traumas, fire alarms, emergencies and disasters following established policies, notifying appropriate personnel and coordinating communication with external entities.
  • Utilize emergency backup equipment and procedures to maintain facility communications during system failures, including evacuation or relocation procedures.
  • Accurately and efficiently process a high volume of incoming, outgoing and interdepartmental calls, providing information and resolving requests in a professional, confidential and courteous manner.
  • Use the integrated CTI workstation to access information for a designated group of facilities, processing calls accurately using computers, directories, and on-call schedules.
  • Serve as an answering service for on-call groups or physicians, documenting required information and relaying time-critical information promptly.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance database information, presenting findings and recommendations to management.
  • Work closely with all departments, staff and customers across several facilities to ensure efficient operations.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
    • Reading, writing, and math proficiency.
    • Strong oral and written communication and listening skills.
    • Basic computer skills and familiarity with computer keyboards.
    • Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions following established policies.
    • Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced, interruption-frequent environment.
    • Team orientation and the ability to work cohesively.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous telephone/customer service experience, particularly in high-volume environments.
    • Experience as a Switchboard Operator, Front Desk Receptionist, or Scheduler in healthcare.
    • Experience working overnight shifts.
    • Additional related education or experience.

    Banner Health Corp Mesa (525 W Brown Rd) or Banner Health Corp Phoenix (1441 N 12th St)

    Location:

    Office of Central Call Center
    Shift Types:
    Fulltime, 40 hours/week, 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., rotating every other weekend.
