PositionGraduate Assistant - Baseball
Reports to: Head Coach - Baseball
Rate: Stipend, up to $7200.00 based on the start date of assigned period
Position SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting the baseball program with the recruitment and retention of student‑athletes while working to ensure the best student experience possible for the members of the Benedictine University Baseball Program.
- Develop relationships within Benedictine University and the university community.
- Attend departmental and university‑related meetings and events.
- Maintain a positive student‑athlete assessment for the program.
- Work in coordination with university offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate university events.
- Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers, and fans.
- Serve on university, conference, and national committees as needed.
- Positively promote Benedictine University and the Department of Athletics on campus and in the community.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Must be enrolled as a Benedictine student in good standing.
Experience: Coaching or playing experience and extensive knowledge of the sport at collegiate athletic level preferred.
Qualifications: Applicant must obtain acceptance into a Benedictine Graduate program of Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Science in Management & Organizational Behavior or Master of Public Health.

Licenses &
Certifications:
Valid driver’s license and CPR/First Aid/AED certification within the first 90 days of being hired.
Physical Requirements: May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Must reach, bend, stoop, lift, sit, walk, or stand for long periods. Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining a professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent district‑wide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather. Must speak clearly and understand others.
Must be able to see objects less than a few feet away or more than a few feet away. Must be able to stand for long periods. General customer service and office environment.

Working Conditions: Office environment; nights and weekends required.
Training: Must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
