UACE Pinal County Program Assistant 4H & AG Ventures
The Maricopa Agriculture Center (MAC) provides a community hub for Cooperative Extension and 4‑H agricultural literacy programs including a hands‑on Ag‑venture demo station area available for school and group tours. The Ameri Corps member will be primarily responsible for the weekly maintenance and upkeep of the Ag Village at the Maricopa Agricultural Center throughout the summer season. Duties will include regular care and oversight of the Ag Village grounds, facilities, and any associated agricultural exhibits or displays to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for visitors and program participants.
The member will monitor and address routine maintenance needs, coordinate with center staff on upkeep priorities, and help maintain the overall appearance and functionality of the Ag Village space. In addition to these responsibilities, the member will assist with 4‑H summer camp programming. This may include supporting hands‑on educational activities, helping supervise youth participants, preparing materials and supplies for camp sessions, and providing ag lessons to contribute to a positive and engaging camp experience.
The schedule will vary based on programming demands and will require flexibility, including some weekend and evening availability.
- Maintain & enhance the Ag Ventures Outdoor Classroom by performing regular landscaping, upkeep, & hands‑on agricultural care to ensure a vibrant, functional learning environment for youth & community visitors.
- Assist 4‑H staff in delivering engaging summer day‑camp programming, supporting hands‑on educational activities, supervising youth participants, & helping create memorable learning experiences.
- Oversee the care of indoor classroom spaces, ensuring facilities remain ready for programming & educational use.
- Manage inventory of supplies & equipment.
- Support the setup & breakdown of educational activities & events.
- Engage with youth audiences & community members visiting the Ag Center, serving as a welcoming ambassador for 4‑H & agricultural education.
- Contribute to promotional & outreach efforts by assisting with social media content, flyers, or other materials that highlight Ag Center programming & events.
