Position Type: Full-time

Base Salary: $55,886.00

Performance Pay: Available annually.

The classroom teacher will guide students toward realizing their potential by translating the district curriculum standards into engaging learning experiences. The teacher creates a positive and inclusive environment and supports the intellectual and emotional needs of all students.

• Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, instructional skills, and resources.
• Utilize effective instructional and management techniques.
• Consider individual student learning needs and district objectives in lesson planning.
• Use district-adopted textbooks, curriculum guides, and technology to enhance instruction.
• Integrate higher‑level thinking strategies and real‑life applications into lessons.
• Create instructional and assessment materials aligned with learning objectives.
• Collect student achievement data and use it to inform instructional decisions.
• Administer positive classroom management and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Communicate expectations and progress with students, parents, and staff.
• Collaborate with parents and school personnel to support each student’s education.
• Maintain records of student achievement, attendance, and discipline.
• Support school goals and address school concerns.
• Perform additional duties assigned by Mesa Public Schools.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid Arizona Teaching Certification.
• Prior teaching experience.
• Associate teacher, student teaching, or practicum experience.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

• Standard classroom setup with desks, whiteboards, and digital tools.
• Supervision during hallways, cafeteria, playground, and outdoor areas.
• Normal 8‑hour workday with possible extension for conferences and activities.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, and occasionally lifting objects up to 20 lbs.
