Our Early Learning Center serves students in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade.
Under the supervision and direction of the Campus Director, the Classroom Teacher, Certified Special Education will effectively manage a caseload of students while preparing lesson plans, instructing students, evaluating and monitoring students’ performance and advancing student achievement in the classroom environment. The Classroom Teacher, Certified Special Education should have experience differentiating instruction for a variety of learners and will work collaboratively with a team to plan and support instruction in accordance with students’ IEP goals.
Teachers in this role should demonstrate a commitment to professional development through didactic workshops and classroom coaching.
Candidates with teaching certification and experience are preferred with a willingness to be trained and coached in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies. The Classroom Teacher, Certified Special Education will support a caseload of students and work on a team to implement a best-practice educational model to achieve optimal results for students on the autism spectrum and students with other related disorders in the online learning environment.
SupervisoryResponsibilities
- Directs, monitors, and mentors paraprofessionals and behavior specialists working with students who have disabilities.
- Engagement and oversight of staff and student caseload in the AZACS classroom learning environment
- Provide instructional support for students in the classroom
- Provide daily feedback to paraprofessionals and behavior specialists
- Weekly lesson planning using curriculum resources for students in the AZACS Academic Program
- Professional development for staff on modifications and implementation
- Analyze curriculum data bi-weekly to make instructional decisions
- Ongoing Student and Parent communication
- Modification of materials for classrooms as needed
- Structured teaching planning, organizing, and implementing
- Staff communication/feedback
- Maintain substitute plans in case of absence
- Maintain alternative staffing plans in case of para absence where coverage is not available
- Participate in all duties and responsibilities as appropriate for an AZACS faculty member
- Maintains knowledge of special education teaching methods, research, and best practices through professional development and study
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for caseload and attend all required student meetings
- Collect, analyze, and report data in a meaningful manner
