JOB TITLE: ELD Itinerant Teacher
Base Salary: $55,386.00
Performance Pay: Available annually

$500 for each full‑time year of certified teaching or verified like experience

Education:
$65/hour of graduate level credits: BA +45 hours max, MA +60 hours max $1000 for advanced degrees
Annual Stipend: $3150 (other certified Special Education positions), $7875 (Autism, Emotional Disability, SHARP or MCS locations)
Class/Calendar: Certified Exempt, 187 workdays

Certification: Alternate teaching certification pathways available with a bachelor’s degree. Candidates must complete an on‑line application which requires appropriate Arizona certification, valid IVP Arizona fingerprint clearance card, evidence of highly qualified status, three letters of recommendation, and transcript of credits.
OVERVIEWThe ELD Itinerant teacher, acting as the district teacher for English Language Learners (ELLs), will provide English vocabulary, grammar, and conversation instruction to identified ELLs. The ELD Itinerant teacher will be responsible for the implementation of the English Language Proficiency Standards, the Discrete Skills Inventory, and district curriculum. The ELD Itinerant teacher reports directly to the site principal and the ELAD department.
QUALIFICATIONS- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
- Current IVP Fingerprint Card
- Elementary or Secondary English Certification (7‑12 grades)
- SEI, ESL or Bilingual Endorsement
- Demonstrates knowledge of Second Language Acquisition
- Demonstrates knowledge of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials
- Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and effective professional relationships with teachers, administrators, parents, students
- Utilizes district/state adopted material and curriculum guides in instructional planning and implementation
- Continuously and accurately collects student achievement data using a variety of tools (e.g., assessments, projects, checklists, anecdotal records, portfolios, etc.). Utilizes this information to make instructional and management decisions that will positively impact student achievement
- Establishes positive relationships with classroom teachers and parents
- Maintains open lines of communication
- Attends and participates in professional development
- Demonstrates a willingness to maintain a flexible schedule
- Works collaboratively and communicates with other ELD Itinerant teachers
- Performs other duties as assigned
