Special Education Coordinator

Rock Point School, Inc. dba Rock Point Community School seeks a Special Education Coordinator in Rock Point, AZ.

Location of Employment

Highway 191, Rock Point, AZ 86545.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Valid Arizona Department of Education Standard Professional Mild/Moderate (or Moderate/Severe) Special Education, K-12 Teacher Certificate.
Duties
  • Coordinate implementation of K-12 Special Education and Gifted & Talented programs.
  • Prepare yearly instructional outlines, monthly and quarterly reports for Native Star, One Plan, ESEA Section 1114, and Part B Plans.
  • Plan programs covering referrals, compliance reviews, staff training, parent training, parent conferencing, testing and assessments.
  • Attend required periodic meetings at various levels.
  • Oversee specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of exceptional children, including classroom, lesson plans, home instruction, and instruction in hospitals and institutions.
  • Prepare RFPs for exceptional programs (speech pathology, audiology, vision, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, psychology, health services, social work, transportation).
  • Handle eligibility, LRE, placement, student IEPs for special education and gifted and talented education.
  • Monitor programs, evaluate activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
  • Submit required reports and documents to the Bureau of Indian Education and CFR; prepare documents for ISEP count/audit and ISEP special education audits.
  • Assist with developing and monitoring professional development for the SPED department.
  • Supervision is inherent to the position.
Salary and Benefits
