Job Summary

The classroom teacher will guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential by translating district curriculum standards and objectives into meaningful learning experiences through classroom instruction and special area assignments. The teacher is responsible for maintaining a positive educational environment and creating programs that meet the intellectual and emotional needs of all students.

Must submit an online application requiring Arizona certification, valid IVP Arizona fingerprint clearance card, evidence of highly qualified status, three letters of recommendation, and transcript of credits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials.
  • Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
  • Considers individual learning needs and abilities of students and school/district learning goals in lesson plan preparation and utilization of instructional materials and assessment documents.
  • Utilizes district‑adopted textbooks and curriculum guides in instructional planning and implementation.
  • Incorporates higher‑level thinking strategies and real‑life applications into lesson planning.
  • Creates instructional and assessment materials that align with learning objectives and instructional methods.
  • Uses available technology or instructional media to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Collects student achievement data using various tools (tests, projects, demonstrations, checklists) to inform instructional decisions that improve student achievement.
  • Establishes, supports, and administers positive classroom management in accordance with regulations.
  • Builds positive relationships with students and maintains open communication with students and parents about academic and behavioral progress.
  • Works with parents and school personnel to provide appropriate education for each student.
  • Manages student records related to achievement, attendance, and discipline.
  • Provides a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Assists in establishing and supporting school goals and resolving school concerns.
  • Communicates expectations of success for all students.
  • Assists with additional duties as required by Mesa Public Schools.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, Valid Arizona CTE Teaching Certification.
  • Experience: Prior teaching experience; associate teacher, student‑teaching, or practicum experience.
