Applications are being accepted to establish a pool of qualified candidates for the position of Adjunct Adult Education Instructor General Education Course Psychology 101, at the East Valley Institute of Technology. Sessions generally run for 8 weeks, meeting 2 times per week. Days and times vary each semester.
Job DescriptionThe Psychology 101 Adjunct Instructor provides engaging instruction to adult learners enrolled in the introductory psychology course. The instructor is responsible for teaching foundational principles of psychology, including biological bases of behavior, cognition, learning, motivation, development, and social interaction. This position emphasizes helping students understand and apply psychological concepts to real-world experiences. The instructor designs and delivers effective lessons aligned with approved course objectives, fosters a respectful and inclusive learning environment, and supports diverse learning styles through varied instructional strategies.
Responsibilities include preparing course materials, assessing student performance, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with EVIT policies and procedures.
Salary: $4500.00 Per Session (3 Credit Class paid at $1500/ Credit)

Education and Experience- Master's degree in Psychology or closely related field from an accredited institution.
- One (1) year of college-level teaching experience is required.
- A minimum of 18 graduate level credits in English with a grade of "C" or higher.
- At least two (2) years of collegiate-level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to engage adult learners using interactive and inclusive teaching strategies in Psychology.
- Experience working with diverse adult learners and promoting student engagement and persistence.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Experience using Canvas, Google Classroom, and Exam Soft or similar learning management systems.
- Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints (IVP) Level 1 fingerprint card.
- Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957.
