Our client is a leading provider of advanced filtration media designed to outperform traditional granular activated carbon (GAC) and resin-based solutions. Their proprietary technology delivers superior performance at a lower cost, making it the go-to choice for industrial water treatment applications.
They’re in need of a Director of Engineering who will serve as the senior technical engineering lead, owning system design, application engineering, and the technical integration of our client’s media into customer systems. This role requires a strong chemical or environmental engineering background, deep knowledge of water treatment processes, and hands‑off experience designing treatment systems across a variety of industrial use cases.
Working closely with the Chief Scientist, the National Sales Applications Engineer, and the commercial team, you will translate customer needs into engineered solutions, support pilot and full‑scale deployments, and guide the expansion of the engineering capabilities as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & System Design- Lead the design of water treatment systems incorporating our clients advanced filtration media.
- Develop standard engineering models, design packages, P&IDs, mass balances, flow diagrams, and system specifications.
- Provide expert application guidance on adsorption mechanisms, media performance, and process optimization.
- Support the Chief Scientist on media development, product refinement, and performance validation.
- Partner with sales teams to evaluate customer needs and design engineered solutions tailored to specific applications.
- Participate in customer calls and site visits to assess technical requirements, water quality data, and system constraints.
- Provide clear, technically sound recommendations for pilot testing, retrofits, and full‑scale integration.
- Ensure that engineering support is delivered professionally, promptly, and with exceptional clarity.
- Oversee engineering support for pilot studies, field trials, and system commissioning.
- Develop implementation plans, installation requirements, and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure smooth execution, documentation, and customer communication.
- Resolve technical challenges during installation and troubleshooting phases.
- Build and refine engineering processes, documentation standards, design library, and modeling tools.
- Train the commercial team on the technical aspects of system design and media performance.
- Work cross‑functionally to align engineering, science, and operations functions on product requirements and feedback from the field.
Compensation is base salary of $150k-$200k or commensurate of experience, plus full benefits.
