Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Operations Program Engineer to support our Armament Systems Business site in Mesa, AZ. Armament Systems is a leading supplier of integrated medium-caliber weapon systems for land, air and sea platforms through its world-renowned Bushmaster® line of automatic cannons produced at its Mesa, Arizona facility. Responsibilities of this role:
* Identifies, researches, vets, and on-boards new suppliers in support of program demands.

* Supports both new and existing suppliers with development of new parts and assemblies.

* Supports source selection from contract proposal to execution phases.

* Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end-users.

* Works with subcontract specifications, work statements, drawings, models, etc. for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.

* Supports efforts around bid packages, bidder conferences, supplier selections, etc. as new suppliers are added to the supply base.

* In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.

* Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk.

* Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.

* Drives and manages the identification and development of strategic/key suppliers. Please note this position may be filled as a Supply Chain Operations Program Engineer (Level
2), or Principal Supply Chain Operations Program Engineer (Level

* 6 years of direct experience in Supplier Development, Supply Chain, Procurement, or relevant field.
Will consider Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field of study plus 2 years of experience, or master's degree with 0 experience. Qualifications for Principal Supply Chain Operations Program Engineer (Level
3)
* 9 years of direct experience in Supplier Development, Supply Chain, Procurement, or relevant field.
Will consider Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field of study plus 5 years of experience, or master's degree plus 3 years of experience
