The Role:Technical Excellence & Leadership
The Senior Technical Engineer (PE-4 level) will lead advanced transportation and roadway engineering efforts, with a strong emphasis on DOT and roadway design projects
. This is a key leadership role for a professional who thrives as a technical expert, mentor, and trusted advisor on complex projects.
You will support multiple project teams, ensure high-quality engineering deliverables, and play a critical role in project pursuits and technical decision-making.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead specialty transportation and roadway projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local DOT standards and regulations.
Oversee all project deliverables, including review, approval, and stamping of final plan sets for QA/QC.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, PEs, EITs, and designers, supporting professional development and knowledge sharing.
Research emerging technologies and best practices in roadway and transportation design to develop new standards, workflows, and efficiencies.
Support project pursuits, interviews, feasibility studies, and due diligence efforts for new work.
Prepare technical documentation such as hydraulic reports, utility reports, and engineering memorandums.
Represent the organization at public agency meetings, client meetings, and project coordination sessions.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
12–15 years of experience in transportation planning and/or final design.
Strong proficiency in Civil 3D, Open Roads Designer, Bluebeam, and pipe network design tools
.Proven ability to independently manage projects under $200K.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to serve as a technical expert or expert witness, if required.
