Job SummaryPentagon Technologies is looking for a Process Engineer to join our team in Mesa, AZ. This is a key customer‑facing technical position which leads new part and process introduction and manages engineering change control processes to support Operations. A strong candidate is resourceful, makes decisions and problem solves independently, and is professional, organized in a fast‑paced environment with strong project management and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Daily engineering assistance to production to facilitate safety, quality, and delivery of orders to customers
- Lead new equipment and analytical instrument installation and qualification
- Interface with customers routinely to lead new part and process development and qualification projects
- Support external and internal audits providing technical expertise; support Customer Satisfaction initiatives and escalations to successful closure
- Process development of chemical processes, mechanical designs, and/or robotic programs
- Perform product and process risk assessment activities, including DFMEA/PFMEA
- Interpret and develop prints and documents for implementation of precision cleaning and surface enhancement procedures that meet customer requirements
- Perform technical training of internal staff to ensure compliance to precision cleaning and surface enhancement procedures and define equipment/metrology operations and maintenance plans
- Update and maintain Process Control Plans to control variation in outgoing quality parameters on customer‑owned materials
- Deploy and manage Statistical Process Control programs, Measurement System Analysis studies per Process Control Plans; review data for process improvements and establish response flows to trends
- Disposition non‑conforming materials and products, and develop and document inspection criteria based on customer and internal quality system requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related STEM field (Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing engineering preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering role
- Excellent analytical and advanced mathematical skills; spreadsheet and database management skills; strong general computer and statistical reasoning skills – ASQ Certification, Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification a plus
- ISO 9001 lead auditor training/certification preferred; JMP experience a plus
Employee will be trained in, and is to follow and lead by example, all general safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies as well as specific safety regulatory requirements.
Work EnvironmentMust be able to work in a group environment and be a self‑starter. Must work in a controlled arsenic environment and in noisy, moist, wet, and hazardous materials environments with standard protection devices. Must handle necessary tools, including manual and mechanized material‑handling equipment for moving heavy loads through the production environment with little assistance. Must work in a controlled chemical environment.
Candidates sensitive to chemical environments with medical conditions such as asthma, allergies, or extreme sensitivity to chemicals may not be considered.
Must pass company‑required screening tests. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift, carry, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
