Systems Engineer II - Avionics Solutions

What You Will Do

We are seeking a Systems Engineer II! We have several systems engineering opportunities within either our Connected Aircraft Solutions or Avionics Solutions/Displays product families. This is a dynamic role that includes all aspects of Systems Design ("V-model"), customer relations, and proposal creation. The scope of this position may include requirements development, system modeling, safety analysis, aircraft integration, and more. Open communication across hardware, software, reliability, and program management disciplines is integral to the success of this role.

This is an on-site position with flexibility, located at either our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI, or our engineering facility in Phoenix, AZ. You will report directly to the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering.

• Perform a wide range of tasks including requirements development, system modeling, safety analysis, verification procedure creation, test execution and preparing certification documentation.
• Perform Integration activities of the Flight Deck Avionics System in the Avionics and Integrated Labs.
• Assist with definition of installation and qualification requirements for equipment within the Avionics System.
• Participate in architecture definition, trade studies, and multi-disciplinary integration problem solving.
• Collaborate within a team of engineers to perform the design, verification, and integration activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, aeronautical, computer, software, systems engineering, or computer science.
• Minimum two years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience with requirements management and change tracking tools such as DOORS, ADO, etc.
• Open to occasional travel as needed.

• Experience with regulatory design guidelines; examples including ARP
  4754A, DO-178b/c, DO-254, DO-160.
• Experience with avionics communication protocols including MIL-, ARINC 429, ARINC 664, and Ethernet.
