Schedule:
Monday – Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (36-hours). Employment:
Full Time, Temporary Assignment (6 months). Benefits Available – Medical, Dental, Vision, Term Life, Short-Term Disability. Hourly Pay Rate: $24.47.
This position supports field operations focused primarily on pothole site investigations, utility locating support, and survey data collection for public works and underground utility projects.
You will be responsible for- Perform field work using survey equipment to locate and document pothole sites and underground utilities
- Collect, verify, and record field measurements and utility data for engineering and construction projects
- Assist with potholing operations and field investigations related to utility conflicts and underground infrastructure
- Utilize GPS, survey instruments, and related field technology to capture accurate site information
- Support engineering staff with data collection, mapping, exhibits, and field documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, field crews, and utility personnel during field operations
- Review and interpret utility maps, construction drawings, and field sketches
- Assist with preparation of reports, exhibits, and engineering documentation using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, or related software
- Conduct field verification and site inspections for public works and utility improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all collected data meets project and City standards
- Operate City vehicles and safely perform field work in varying outdoor conditions
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in engineering support, survey work, utility locating, CAD, GIS, public works, or related field
- Experience with field investigations, potholing, survey equipment, GPS equipment, or underground utility operations preferred
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, or related software preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, utility maps, and construction plans
- Strong attention to detail and accurate field documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and with field crews and engineering staff
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License required
