The Boeing Company is seeking a 2nd shift motivated collaborative associate or experienced

Composites M&P (Materials and Processes) Engineer to join our Composite Materials Fabrication Site in Mesa, Arizona.

What you'll do

* Apply chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods

* Provide technical evaluation and material and process support to composite part fabrication

* Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective & preventive actions for material and process issues

* Create and execute test plans, write reports and input to specifications for materials, tools, and processes

* Qualify and approve equipment, materials and processes

* Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory

* Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement

* Travel to suppliers as needed

* Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines

* Manage test/audit programs, ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, and incorporate EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles into your work

* This role is full-time 2nd shift and is expected to be 100% onsite (12:30 pm - 10:00 pm)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): (Please see required education & experience for the different levels below)

* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

* 1+ years of experience in engineering

* Able to work full-time 2nd shift.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* 1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques (Level 2 or 3 applies based on years of experience).

* Level 2:
Bachelor's + ~2 years' related experience (or equivalent advanced degree/experience).

* Level 3:
Bachelor's + ~5 years' related experience (or equivalent advanced degree/experience).

* Possess DoD Secret Clearance.

* Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques.

* Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives.

* Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis.

* Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plans

* Comfortable reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office.

* Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings

* Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment

Level 2

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
