We’re looking for a motivated, collaborative engineer—either early-career or experienced—who’s passionate about composites, polymer chemistry, failure analysis, and production problem-solving.

** What you’ll do
*** Apply chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods
* Provide technical evaluation and material and process support to composite part fabrication
* Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective & preventive actions for material and process issues
* Create and execute test plans, write reports and input to specifications for materials, tools, and processes
* Qualify and approve equipment, materials and processes
* Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory
* Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement
* Travel to suppliers as needed
* Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines
* Manage test/audit programs, ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, and incorporate EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles into your work
* This role is
** full-time 2nd shift
** and is expected to be 100% onsite ***(12:30 pm – 10:00 pm)
***** This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
**** This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
**** Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.
**** Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): (Please see required education & experience for the different levels below)
*** Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
* 1+ years of experience in engineering
* Able to work full-time 2nd shift.
** Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
*** 1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques (Level 2 or 3 applies based on years of experience).
* Level 2:
Bachelor’s + ~2 years’ related experience (or equivalent advanced degree/experience).
* Level 3:
Bachelor’s + ~5 years’ related experience (or equivalent advanced degree/experience).
* Possess DoD Secret Clearance.
* Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques.
* Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives.
* Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis.
