Senior Industrial Engineer – Aerospace Manufacturing

Duration: 12 Months Contract (Possible Extension)

Shift: 1st Shift | 5:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Pay Rate: $60/hr

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer 3 to support Apache Helicopter production within a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This role focuses on low-volume, large-scale assembly operations and requires strong expertise in manufacturing engineering, production optimization, workflow analysis, and process improvement.

The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and engineering teams to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and support operational excellence initiatives.

• Apply industrial engineering principles to manufacturing processes, products, and services.
• Develop plant layouts, workflow sequencing, capacity planning, and equipment optimization strategies.
• Design, maintain, and improve production systems involving facilities, equipment, supply base, and personnel integration.
• Conduct workflow and data analysis using models, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, schedule adherence, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Support production planning, shop load management, and recovery planning activities.
• Assist with supply chain logistics and performance visibility initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, ergonomic requirements, and manufacturing best practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support innovative aerospace manufacturing solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Production Engineering experience.
• Experience supporting complex manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Mesa, AZ.

• Experience with low-volume assembly for large aerospace or defense platforms.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
• Experience with Discrete Event Simulation tools such as Simio or Pro Model.
• Knowledge of scheduling tools such as Aurora or MS Project.
• Experience with job scheduling and production sequencing.
• Familiarity with NX/Unigraphics or other 3D CAD tools.
• Knowledge of APQP and PFMEA methodologies.
• Experience with Teamcenter tools including PDM, Process Simulate, or Manufacturing Process Planner.
