MP&P Engineer 2nd Shift (Composite) – Boeing
Boeing, The Boeing Company – Composite Materials Fabrication Site, Mesa, Arizona.
Join Boeing’s Composite Materials Fabrication Site as an MP&P Engineer working 2nd shift (12:30pm – 10:00pm). The role is full‑time, 100% onsite, and requires a U.S. citizen who can obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
Responsibilities- Apply chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods.
- Provide technical evaluation and material/process support to composite part fabrication.
- Perform root‑cause investigations and implement corrective & preventive actions for material and process issues.
- Create and execute test plans, write reports, and contribute to specifications for materials, tools, and processes.
- Qualify and approve equipment, materials, and processes.
- Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory.
- Coordinate with Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
- Travel to suppliers as needed.
- Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines.
- Manage test/audit programs, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance while incorporating EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles.
- Collaborate in a multi‑disciplinary engineering team.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent degree.
- 1+ year of engineering experience.
- 1+ year working with composites, elastomers, and related processing techniques (Level2 or3).
- Knowledge of epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives.
- Experience with composite failure modes and failure analysis.
- Hands‑on lab experience with polymer chemistry and analytical techniques.
- Experience creating technical specifications, reports, test plans, and delivering technical presentations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use Microsoft Office.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
