Airswift is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join a growing technical team supporting the development, scale-up, and optimization of chemical processing operations.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across laboratory, pilot plant, and project stages, helping transform innovative process concepts into safe, efficient, and commercially viable operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in process design, testwork execution, scale-up activities, engineering coordination, and operational readiness. We are particularly interested in professionals with experience in w et chemical processing, hydrometallurgy, or chemical plant operations who enjoy solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the design, scale-up, and optimization of chemical processing operations from pilot to commercial scale.
- Perform mass and energy balances, process modelling, and technical evaluations.
- Plan, execute, and analyze testwork programs to improve process performance.
- Develop and review engineering documentation, including PFDs and P&IDs.
- Collaborate with operations, laboratories, engineering partners, and project teams.
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
- Prepare technical reports, test plans, and project updates while maintaining a strong safety focus.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of process engineering experience in hydrometallurgy, chemical processing, mineral processing, battery materials, or related industries.
- Experience with wet processing operations, including leaching, filtration, slurry handling, reaction systems, and associated plant equipment.
- Strong understanding of mass and energy balances, process design, and scale-up methodologies.
- Experience reviewing engineering deliverables such as PFDs and P&IDs.
- Pilot plant, technology development, or greenfield project experience.
- Process simulation experience using SysCAD, Aspen, METSIM, or similar software.
- Experience supporting design, construction, commissioning, and plant start-up activities.
- Knowledge of DOE, process optimization, Lean, Six Sigma, or RCA methodologies.
