Job Summary

To monitor and maintain the daily operation of activities for school auditorium usage; to coordinate auditorium scheduling and oversee auditorium activities; and to maintain accurate recordkeeping for auditorium usage, equipment and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate auditorium equipment
  • Schedule, coordinate and supervise auditorium activities during the school day
  • Coordinate and supervise facility rental activities during non-school hours
  • Collaborate with school staff to provide needed equipment for special events (i.e. concerts, plays, dress rehearsals, etc.)
  • Coordinate and communicate auditorium usage scheduling via e‑mail
  • Coordinate and communicate the overall auditorium usage calendar via web‑based calendar system
  • Communicate with supervising administrator regarding auditorium related issues (i.e. equipment status, auditorium usage, event calendar, etc.)
  • Monitor auditorium and conduct daily inventory of equipment and materials
  • Assist students with editing and production of daily announcements (I‑Movie); assist in training students to become self‑sufficient in maintaining site‑based TV production; conduct student learning experiences as needed
  • Assist teachers with monitoring student assignments/projects
  • Monitor computer lab and conduct daily inventory of equipment and materials; monitor and secure auditorium area during lunch hour
  • Work flexible schedule, as required, including evenings and weekends
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Required Qualifications
  • High School education or equivalent
  • Successful experience working with high school students

  • Knowledge of stage elements (lighting, sound, stage set‑up, basic technical repairs, chords, set construction/design, etc.)
  • Computer proficiency to include basic software applications; experience with I‑Movie and MAC platform
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, school staff and district personnel
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with students, school staff and district personnel
  • Ability to take initiative, be flexible, and accept direction and constructive feedback
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines while working with minimum supervision
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to supervise student assistants
  • Ability to conduct learning experiences for individuals or small groups
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Primary workspace is typically the school's auditorium or performance space
  • Frequently works behind the scenes, including wings, control booth, and set storage areas
  • Some administrative work like scheduling, communication, and documentation may happen in an office or shared workspace
  • Involves managing or attending rehearsals in classrooms, gyms, or other makeshift rehearsal areas
  • Often includes after‑school hours, evenings, and weekends—especially leading up to and during performances
  • Must move quickly between different areas (stage, booth, dressing rooms), often on short notice
  • Lifting/carrying set pieces, props, and equipment (up to ~50 lbs.)
