The Optometric Technician is an essential part of our team who assists the optometrist in pretesting patients and provides exceptional patient care and registration at three (3) of our office locations: (85204, 85206, & 85226).
Must be available to work "full shifts" 5 out of 7 days each week (WEEKDAYS and WEEKENDS) based on our business needs.
Will not be scheduled at more than one location during the same day.
Working EnvironmentOn-site, inside of our practices (no remote work available).

Minimum QualificationsA high school diploma or equivalent. Customer service, and optometry or medical office experience preferred.
Essential Duties- Greet patients by providing professional and friendly customer service.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, insurance verifications, patient check in and out processes, collect copays, patient intake duties, and referrals.
- Enter patient data, maintain patient demographics, HIPAA compliance confidential data.
- Explain processes to prepare patients for pretesting, perform vision pre-screenings, take legible notes during examinations, transition patients to doctors.
- Provide exceptional patient care.
- Promptly review and reply to voice messages.
- Perform minor maintenance on examination equipment or contact the supervisor.
- Daily office cleaning and sanitation of examination equipment.
- Perform and document no show, NEE, and courtesy reminder calls.
- Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and fellow teammates.
- Ability to be scheduled at different office locations during the week.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential for our patient care.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience using optical pretesting equipment.
- Contact Lens training, ordering, and sales.
- Evidence of strong working relationships with doctors.
- Experience in customer / patient service.
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred).
- Ability to self-motivate with the experience of working under pressure.
- Optometric technician certification or associate’s degree, optometric technician.
- Associates or higher degree in medical, human relations, or related fields.
