Endoscopy Technician

• Assist with prescribed endoscopic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols
• Prepare cases and pull appropriate instruments and supplies
• Maintain accurate information on preference cards
• Review cases for procedural needs and ensure diagnostic and therapeutic devices are available
• Assist in performing endoscopic procedures and anticipate changing needs
• Demonstrate aseptic technique and universal precautions
• Dispose of sharps and trash
• Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store scopes and reusable devices
• Return unused supplies appropriately
• Set up diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
• Position equipment and patients in procedure rooms
• Clean and stock procedure rooms and carts
• Assist with clerical duties as needed
• Work under direct supervision and follow pre-established procedures and protocols

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• Current BLS certification required
• Clinical knowledge normally associated with 1–2 years of previous experience in a health care setting
• Effective organizational, communication, and human relations skills
• Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment required
• Completion of post-offer drug screen required
• Completion of post-offer background check, including employment, criminal, and education checks, required
• Certification preferred
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred

Demonstrates proficiency in assisting with endoscopic procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques, and managing procedural supplies. Possesses strong organizational and communication skills essential for effective collaboration in a healthcare environment.
