  • 7:00am - 7:00pm

  • EMS experience
Responsibilities
  • Activate and follow flight/ground teams during missions, including flight following, customer notification, and documentation, all within current policies.
  • Triage and perform multiple critical tasks in a calm, timely manner in a stressful emergency environment.
  • Establish proficiency with Incident Command Systems, Emergency Operations Centers, Multiple Casualty Incidents, aircraft incidents, Hazmat and Disaster plans; assist management and federal transportation agencies during incidents.
  • Coordinate details of medical transports by working with aviation, medical and communications departments and other resources.
  • Accurately input all flight and ground transport information into network database with regard to FAA Part 135 and NCME policies and maintain knowledge of FAA rules (Parts 91 and 135) to remain compliant.
  • Maintain and facilitate positive relationships with referring and receiving facilities and pre‑hospital agencies to ensure safe, coordinated, expeditious responses for internal and external customers.
  • Implement proper procedures for notification of administration personnel and appropriate agencies during incidents, accidents or emergencies with personnel, according to established policies.
  • Work independently under established protocols; confer with supervisor for unusual situations and make difficult decisions regarding aeromedical transport (mode changes, weather, mechanical issues, or activation of the Pre/Post Accident Incident Plan).
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
    • Within the first six months of hire, obtain Med Trans Corp. Part 135 certification.
    • Within the first year, obtain AHA CPR certification and flight‑following certification through the International Association of Medical Transport Communication Specialists (IAMTCS).
    • Must be computer literate; proficient with Word, Access, Excel and ability to learn custom programs.
    • Excellent customer service skills; ability to function calmly under pressure, think logically and make problem‑solving decisions.
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to multi‑task and work as part of a team.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous air medical communications experience.
    • Current EMT‑B certification or higher.
    • Previous medical terminology course or experience.
    • EMS operation experience.
    • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
