Job Summary
The Peer Support Specialists (PSS) assigned to PCMH/OTP Community-Based Services perform one‑on‑one support, providing day‑to‑day problem‑solving related to normalization and reintegration into the community. They utilize best practices of assertive engagement, harm reduction, and peer support, promote a safe and inclusive recovery environment, and embrace the recovery philosophy among clients.
Responsibilities• Provide individualized peer support and encouragement to clients within PCMH/OTP Communities.
• Use assertive engagement and harm‑reduction techniques to foster recovery and independence.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment that reinforces the recovery philosophy.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to support clients’ treatment plans and community integration.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of six months recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders.
- Minimum of six months experience in the behavioral health and/or substance abuse field.
- Current Arizona driver’s license in good standing.
- Clear 39‑month motor vehicle record.
- Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) or ability to obtain CPSS certification within 90 days of hire.
- Addiction and substance use disorder certification preferred.
