Vascular Interventional Radiologic Technologist (VI / Cath Lab) Part-Time or PRN | Mondays & Fridays | Western Vascular Institute Position Summary

Western Vascular Institute is seeking an experienced Vascular Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our vascular procedure team in our in-office angiography suite .

This position is ideal for a Radiologic Technologist with experience in vascular interventional procedures, interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, or endovascular procedures who enjoys working closely with physicians in a procedural setting.

The technologist will play an integral role in supporting our vascular surgeons during image-guided endovascular procedures , including operating fluoroscopic imaging equipment, maintaining radiation safety standards, assisting with sterile procedures, and supporting patients throughout the perioperative process.

Vascular Interventional (VI) or Interventional Radiology experience is strongly preferred. However, candidates with strong Cardiac Cath Lab experience who are interested in transitioning into vascular intervention are encouraged to apply.

Schedule
  • Part-Time or PRN
  • Primary coverage needed on Mondays and Fridays
  • Additional hours may be available based on procedural volume and practice needs
  • Consistent Monday and/or Friday availability strongly preferred
Key Skills & Experience
  • Vascular interventional and/or endovascular procedures
  • Interventional Radiology (IR) or Cardiac Cath Lab experience
  • Fluoroscopy and digital vascular imaging
  • Portable C-arm operation
  • Radiation safety and ALARA principles
  • Sterile technique and surgical scrubbing
  • Angiographic procedures and procedural support
  • Patient positioning and imaging optimization
  • EMR/EHR documentation
  • Next Gen experience is a plus
Primary Responsibilities
  • Operate fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging equipment during vascular and endovascular procedures .
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic images while assisting physicians with visualization during image-guided procedures.
  • Position patients and imaging equipment appropriately throughout procedures.
  • Apply appropriate radiation protection and ALARA principles for patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Scrub and assist physicians during vascular procedures as needed.
  • Prepare sterile fields, procedural equipment, devices, and supplies as needed.
  • Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care as needed.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and condition throughout procedures within the technologist's scope and training.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation related to imaging, procedures, and radiation safety.
  • Maintain procedural equipment and assist with inventory and supply management.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable clinical, radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory standards within the angiography suite.
  • Perform additional duties within scope as needed to support patient care and procedural operations.
Certification & Education Requirements Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Current ARRT (R) certification
  • Current Arizona Radiologic Technologist certification/license , as applicable
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
Preferred
  • ARRT Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) certification
  • ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) certification
  • Previous Vascular Interventional, Interventional Radiology, Endovascular, or Cardiac Cath Lab experience
  • Experience operating fluoroscopy and C-arm equipment during vascular procedures
  • Experience scrubbing and assisting with interventional procedures
