- Answer phones and support smooth patient flow
- Schedule patient appointments, office visits, and procedures
- Register patients and insurance information and obtain required signatures
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, referrals, pre-certifications, and authorizations
- Obtain and manage authorizations for medical imaging, procedures, specialty medications, and other healthcare services
- Calculate and collect patient liability and explain financial policies and payment resources
- Enter payments and charges, reconcile daily payments and charges, balance the cash drawer, and prepare bank deposits
- Confirm appointments and ensure patients are prepared for visits
- Address patient concerns by telephone, email, and in person
- Communicate with patients, families, providers, care teams, management, centralized services, and insurance payors
- Respond to medical-record requests according to policies and applicable laws
- Assist with patient flow, including escorting patients, taking vitals and history, assisting with treatment, distributing mail and fax information, and ordering supplies
- Release information in accordance with organizational and compliance policies
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
- One or more years of patient financial services, financial, collecting services, or insurance industry experience processes
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and work independently
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and signed Arizona Criminal History Affidavit at hire for specified behavioral health clinical settings serving children
- Work experience with the Company's systems and processes preferred
- Previous cash collections experience preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
Demonstrates expertise in patient financial services, including insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and cash collections. Proficient in managing patient interactions and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
