Navajo Preference Employment Act
In accordance with Navajo Nation and federal law, TCRHCC has implemented an Affidavit Plan pursuant to the Navajo Preference in Employment Act. Pursuant to this Plan and corresponding TCRHCC Policy, applicants who meet the necessary qualifications for this position and (1) are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation, Hopi Tribe, or San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe will be given preference in hiring and employment for this position, (2) are legally married to enrolled members of the Navajo Nation, Hopi Tribe, or San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe and meet residency requirements will be given secondary preference, and (3) are enrolled members of other federally-recognized American Indian Tribes will be given tertiary preference.
OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY
This position will provide services in the Ambulatory Care Department as assigned. The incumbent will work under the supervision of a Licensed Audiologist or Physician. The Audiology technician performs a broad range of administrative and clinical functions to facilitate the work of the Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP). Audiology technician will be responsible for setting up and cleaning examination room, maintaining supply stock in between exams, and recording data under direct supervision of the provider or LIP.

High School Diploma and GED - Tech II:
Associate’s degree in communication sciences
Experience:
- Tech I:
Must have six (6) months of prior direct patient care experience - Tech II:
Must have one (1) year of prior Clinical Audiology Technician experience
Certification (I/II):
- Tech I:
Must maintain current valid certification of the following throughout employment:- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Audiology Technician certification from an accredited ASHA Certified Audiology Assistant Program (C-AA) or an Otolaryngology Technician certification from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), if none must obtain within nine (9) months from date of hire.
- Tech II:
Must have a current, valid Audiology Technician certification from an accredited ASHA Certified Audiology Assistant Program (C-AA) or an Otolaryngology Technician certification from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS)

Skills and Abilities:
- A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. All employment references must address and indicate success in each one of the following areas:
- Successful and positive working relationships with excellent Customer Service skills and telephone etiquette.
- Reliable and dependable; reports to work as scheduled without excessive absences
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents and respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite applications and EMR system.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety precautions
- Completion of above-satisfactory scores on all job interviews, demonstrating to the satisfaction of the interviewees and TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
