What You ll DoHuman Resources
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day employee support
- Facilitate new hire orientation and training to ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience
- Partner with the Talent Development Director to maintain employee handbooks, policies, and HR forms
- Coordinate and administer annual compliance and benefits-related training (anti-harassment, open enrollment, required notices, etc.)
- Lead benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and employee education
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and former employee payroll and benefits questions
- Assist with ESOP communication and provide required reporting and documentation
- Prepare and maintain annual reporting for benefits, ESOP, and 401(k) programs
- Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on schedule using Viewpoint
- Review and approve timesheets, audit payroll data, and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain employee payroll records, including compensation, benefits deductions, tax updates, and personal information changes
- Process bonuses, special payrolls, terminations, and year-end adjustments
- Prepare W-2s and quarterly/annual payroll filings
- Submit payroll taxes, 401(k) deferrals, and HSA contributions in a timely and compliant manner
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations
- Perform payroll-related general ledger reconciliations and support month-end close
- Review, code, and approve HR and payroll-related invoices
- Assist with ESOP and benefits audits and annual reporting requirements
- Meet monthly accounting deadlines and maintain accurate documentation
- Administer workers compensation claims and coordinate with employees, managers, and carriers
- Support annual insurance audits and reporting
- Assist in maintaining vendor and broker relationships
- Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of human resources experience with hands-on payroll and benefits administration.
- ESOP experience preferred but not required.
- Experience processing full-cycle payroll with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and benefits compliance requirements
- Experience administering employee benefit programs, including enrollments and qualifying life events
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to support employees at all levels
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, attending meetings, or traveling.
- Ability to stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites, sometimes over uneven terrain or in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to drive or travel by air for client meetings, project visits, conferences, and industry events.
