Our rapidly-growing contract mining company has an immediate need for a Human Resources Manager.
The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader responsible for overseeing all day-to-day aspects of the Human Resource function including high-volume recruiting + hiring, payroll + benefits administration, performance management, compliance, employee relations and organizational development.
This role serves as a key support to senior leadership in ensuring that Human Resource strategies align with overall business goals to foster a high-performance, people-centered culture. We employ over 500 individuals across a number of states and that number continues to grow. Our mid-sized company still has an entrepreneurial feel, and the candidate will be expected to wear several hats as we scale the business.

Primary Responsibilities- Talent Acquisition
Drive high-volume recruiting, onboarding, workforce planning and succession planning to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent as well in addition to being well‑positioned for future growth. - Employee Relations
Promote a positive work environment, handle conflict resolution and implement initiatives that support employee engagement and retention. - Policy Development + Compliance
Create, update and enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. - Payroll + Benefits Administration
With Payroll Administrator, oversee on-time and accurate weekly payroll delivery via Paycom.
Design and implement competitive compensation structures and manage benefit programs that attract and motivate employees while ensuring cost-effectiveness. - Performance Management
Lead the performance appraisal process, set competency & performance metrics, and teach, coach and train managers on effective feedback and goal setting. - HRIS + Analytics
Leverage HR technologies (Paycom) and data analytics to improve efficiency and inform strategic decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- HR Certifications (SHRM and/or HRCI) strongly preferred
- 8+ years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity.
- Deep knowledge of employment law, Human Resources best practices and organizational development.
- Proven ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with HR platforms, payroll + benefits administration, and data-driven decision-making. Comprehensive knowledge of Paycom HRIS (or similar) including implementation experience strongly preferred.
