Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day HR operations of a growing healthcare organization. This role will serve as a key operational partner to the HR Manager and will be responsible for managing multiple functional areas within Human Resources, including onboarding, recruitment, employee engagement, payroll administration, benefits, employee relations, compliance, records management, and general HR support.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, demonstrates strong critical thinking and initiative, and can effectively manage sensitive and confidential information in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position requires someone who is adaptable, solution-focused, and capable of independently handling a broad range of HR responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
- Support daily HR operations and assist with implementation of HR processes, procedures, and initiatives.
- Serve as a point of contact for frontline employees regarding HR-related questions and concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive organizational information.
- Assist HR leadership with departmental projects, audits, and process improvements.
- Ensure HR practices align with company policies and employment regulations.
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities for assigned positions, including job postings, screening candidates, interview scheduling, and offer coordination.
- Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Prepare onboarding documentation and ensure completion of employment requirements.
- Coordinate background checks, reference checks, and pre-employment requirements.
- Maintain accurate onboarding and recruitment records.
- Independently process payroll from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate payroll administration for all employees.
- Review, audit, and validate employee time records, pay rates, earnings, deductions, PTO balances, and payroll-related changes prior to payroll processing.
- Process new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, promotions, bonuses, retroactive adjustments, and other payroll transactions.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure employee data is accurate and up to date within the HRIS and payroll systems.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, timekeeping issues, and employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner.
- Partner with Finance and organizational leadership to ensure payroll deadlines are met and payroll data is complete and accurate.
- Prepare payroll reports, audits, reconciliations, and supporting documentation as needed.
- Administer payroll-related compliance requirements and maintain payroll records in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Support payroll system implementations, testing, upgrades, and process improvements, including ongoing administration of ADP.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee compensation and payroll information.
- Support employee benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
- Assist with open enrollment coordination and benefits communication.
- Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure timely processing of benefit-related documentation.
- Coordinate with benefit vendors and carriers as needed.
- Provide frontline employee support related to workplace concerns, attendance, policies, and performance-related matters.
- Escalate complex employee relations issues to the HR Manager as appropriate.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and organizational culture efforts.
- Assist with investigations, documentation, and follow-up related to employee concerns.
- Maintain employee files and HR records in compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
- Assist with compliance initiatives, audits, reporting, and credential tracking.
- Ensure completion and maintenance of I-9s, licensure records, certifications, and other required documentation.
- Support compliance with employment laws, healthcare regulations, and internal policies.
- Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and documentation.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, maintaining HR calendars, and coordinating HR activities.
