SummaryDevelops, edits, and delivers high‑quality contract deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs), technical manuals, product support documentation, and training packages for U.S. Government and subcontract customers. Interfaces directly with engineers, developers, and program managers to ensure deliverables are technically accurate and delivered on time.
Responsibilities & Skills- Lead the development of technical manuals (operator, user, and maintenance) for ICE training systems.
- Produce training content (presentations, courseware, hands‑on guides).
- Create monthly/quarterly reports, logistics support deliverables, and contractor documentation.
- Participate in proposal development and RFI responses.
- Assist with the development of marketing materials (datasheets, brochures, slide decks).
- Manage multiple concurrent deliverables, ensuring compliance with contract standards and MIL‑STDs.
- Use visuals (illustrations, diagrams, screenshots) to improve comprehension.
- Review and revise documentation for accuracy, compliance, and clarity.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in aerospace/defense technical writing OR
- 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in live training systems, electronics, telemetry, network technology, or other regulated industries OR
- A combination of both.
- Prior experience developing structured technical documentation (manuals, specifications, reports, or similar).
- Working knowledge of DoD Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), MIL‑STDs, and government contract deliverables or ability to apply equivalent structured documentation standards.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple documents/projects.
- Excellent writing/editing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing / Communications, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with configuration/document management software tools.
- Prior defense/aerospace experience preferred; candidates with backgrounds in other regulated industries (automotive, medical devices, semiconductors, etc.) encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with proposal writing and government contracting.
- U.S. citizen, eligible for or able to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Job Type: Full‑time In‑Office Compensation: $38.10 – $46.51 per hour
