Network Deployment Lead, DC Communities
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep the cloud running. We tackle complex supply‑chain challenges and seek talented people to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware and network engineers, supply‑chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Responsibilities- Initial cabling planning, installation, validation, and quality assessment.
- Engaging external contractors, including newly onboarded cabling vendors.
- Planning and working with project stakeholders to determine device and cabling requirements, scheduling resources to meet project timelines, engaging external vendors, and continuous status reporting.
- Installing, racking and stacking networking devices, running and patching fiber cable, and configuring devices using automation tools and the command line interface.
- Validating, troubleshooting devices and stress testing prior to capacity delivery.

Basic Qualifications- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in computer networking
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting
- Can work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
