Position Overview
The Data Center IDF Buildout Technician supports Microsoft data center expansion and infrastructure deployment projects, focusing on the construction and commissioning of Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDFs). This role is critical to delivering scalable, repeatable, and safety‑first network infrastructure in support of Microsoft's cloud and AI environments.
Technicians and Leads will execute structured cabling, fiber deployment, rack installation, pathway buildouts, and system readiness tasks while strictly adhering to Microsoft EHS, security, and change control requirements. This work is typically performed under a standardized onsite operating model used for both netnew deployments and capacity expansions within active data centers.
Key Responsibilities- Build and commission new IDF rooms within Microsoft data center environments.
- Install and secure network racks, cabinets, ladder racks, cable trays, and containment systems.
- Perform copper and fiber cabling (Cat6/Cat6A, single mode, multimode) from IDF to MDF and floor distribution points.
- Terminate, label, dress, and test fiber and copper cabling to Microsoft standards.
- Install network hardware including switches, patch panels, and structured cabling components.
- Support rack and stack activities related to network and infrastructure equipment.

Wed‑Sat every other Wednesday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Heavier need on day shifts.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Mesa, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range is $28.00 – $35.00 per hour.
