Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Systems & Network Engineer to join one of our clients in Mesa, Arizona. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role supporting a complex enterprise infrastructure across virtualization, networking, storage, security, and Microsoft cloud technologies.
This individual will take full ownership of the environment, serve as a key escalation point for the Director, and play a critical role in mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver who thrives in fast‑paced environments and is passionate about driving infrastructure improvements, stability, and modernization. This is a full‑time onsite position working 4 - 10 hour days (Monday through Thursday) based in Mesa, Arizona.
What You’ll Work With
- Enterprise virtualization: VMware and/or Hyper‑V
- HPE storage platforms, including Simplivity
- Cisco ecosystem:
Meraki, UCS, Wireless APs, and Cisco ISE - Veeam Backup & Replication for enterprise data protection
- Microsoft technologies: SQL Server, Entra (Azure AD), Intune, Defender, and SharePoint Online
- Active Directory administration, including Group Policy management and hygiene
- Security and compliance frameworks, including NIST 800‑171 (highly preferred)
- Must have hands‑on experience with VMware and/or Hyper‑V
- Experience with HPE storage systems and Simplivity is preferred
- Strong Cisco networking experience (Meraki, UCS, WAPs, Cisco ISE) is required
- Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
- Microsoft SQL Server administration, maintenance, and performance tuning
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy management
- Experience with Entra (Azure AD)
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and Defender
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Defender, and Purview—preferably within a GCC‑High environment
- Familiarity with NIST 800‑171 security controls and compliance requirements is a strong plus
- Experience supporting specialized assets / operational technology (OT) in a manufacturing environment, particularly for Department of Defense (DoD) contracts, is highly desirable
- SharePoint Online administration experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- CCNA certification or equivalent networking experience preferred
- Familiarity with security frameworks, compliance, or regulated environments
- Candidate should be comfortable working in a direct, fast‑paced environment
- Must have a strong, pragmatic approach with no ego‑driven behavior
- Ability to take direction and execute efficiently is critical
- The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment
- A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
- Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Must demonstrate a “can‑do” attitude
