Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Base Hourly: $19.89

Class/Calendar: B21,12 months

Benefits: Vacation, sick leave, holidays, retirement matched through the Arizona State Retirement System, health, and life insurance

Performance Pay: Available annually

New Hire

Experience:

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

Job Summary

The SIS Support and Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the district’s student information system SIS (Synergy) through direct technical assistance, training, and the development of resources for district personnel. This role includes preparing and updating training documentation, facilitating in-person and remote learning sessions, managing calls through a call router, and assisting in troubleshooting software issues to ensure district staff can utilize the SIS effectively in their roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop curriculum, course materials, and lesson plans tailored to the district’s student information system and related software applications for staff training
  • Conduct training sessions in a classroom setting and offer ongoing technical support through a help desk/call center model
  • Provide phone, email, and remote desktop support for district personnel using the SIS
  • Collaborate with the Information Systems team to create, revise, and distribute up-to-date training materials and maintain current documentation
  • Simplify complex technical information for broader district comprehension and accessibility
  • Publish and update course schedules and descriptions for district-wide dissemination
  • Coordinate scheduling and usage of the district’s PC Lab and assist with its upkeep, in collaboration with Information Systems
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance training methods, incorporating innovative techniques and feedback to improve learning outcomes
  • Support district personnel with software troubleshooting for the SIS and other related applications
  • Conduct quality assurance testing on upcoming releases of the SIS
  • Maintain punctual, consistent attendance
Required Qualifications
  • High School education
  • Minimum of one year of experience in technical training, ideally in educational technology or student information systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in software, including the MS Office/Google Suite
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with district personnel across all levels
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Experience with the Synergy Student Information System
